James joined GCG as the Chief Investment Officer of Private Wealth in 2018. His role, first and foremost, is to be a good steward of our clients’ trust and capital. James is responsible for building out the firm’s investment models, implementing customized portfolio strategies, and educating stakeholders on the best, long-term approaches to the market. Prior to joining GCG, James worked as an Alternatives Investment Consultant at Wells Fargo. Before that, he sat on the Investment Committee at Nyes Ledge Capital Management, a hedge fund of funds servicing large endowments and foundations in the Boston area. James graduated from Emory College with a BA in Economics, and is currently working on his MBA at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. He is also a CFA Charter Holder.
After spending most of his life in Boston, James finally came to his senses during the winter of 2016. Having survived the Polar-Vortex, he immediately booked a one-way ticket to Charlotte. During his free time, he likes to golf and spoil his two nieces, Izzy and Elle.
