Billy started her career as the first collection manager for Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. After a 7 1/2 year tenure in the collection department, often seeing patients leave with large and financially burdensome hospital bills, Billy decided that she needed a career change.
Seeking out help from an employment agency, Billy found a new position in finance. Following a lunch time interview with Equitable Securities, she was hired on the spot. Billy was with Equitable Securities for 11 years before she was hired by the NYSE firm of Dixon Powell Kistler. She was with Dixon Powell Kistler for 3 1/2 years as a registered representative.
Billy moved again to Wheat First Securities, which was merged into First Union Securities, which was merged into Wachovia Securities, which was bought by Wells Fargo Advisors. Billy spent 45 years with Wheat/Wells Fargo Advisors.
Now as a Financial Advisor with GCG Wealth Management, Billy and her partner, grandson Clay Craven, work closely together to offer their clients a wide range of services. They joined the firm as part of GCG’s expansion into Greensboro in April of 2019.
Billy has been registered for more than 50 years and holds her Series 1, Series 63 and has taken the PC-Amex exam. Billy was one of the first female registered representatives in the state of North Carolina.
Billy’s favorite part of being an advisor is getting to know her clients and learning about their ambitions and interests! During her spare time, Billy enjoys working in her yard and flower beds. Her yard is the envy of the neighborhood.
